Yamaha have sampled two of the greats – their very own CFX concert grand, and the mighty Bosendorfer Imperial concert grand – note for note. This voice has then been transposed into the heart of the CVP701, giving it that bold, rich and complex range of expression – exactly what you’d expect from a grand.

But it doesn’t end there. As well as the authentic acoustic sound, the touch and feel of the piano has to be right too. So the CVP701 digital piano incorporates the GH3X (Graded Hammer 3X) keyboard with escapement and synthetic ivory keytops, which has the same action and tactile sensation as a genuine grand. The pedal action is also designed to replicate a grand, and it’s a combination of this and the instrument’s voice that gives you that ‘Real Grand Expression’ experience.
