Yamaha CK88 Stage Keyboard
Yamaha CK88 Stage Keyboard
The Yamaha CK88 is a true all-around keyboard designed for stage, studio and home use wherever a good and varied keyboard sound is required. This ranges from the professional live stage to the small club to busking in the city centre where no power is available. Whether it‘s songwriting, a choir rehearsal, a quick serenade, or a recording production in the studio or bedroom - with the CK61, you‘re guaranteed to have the right instrument at hand for such occasions and more.
With its 88-key GHS keyboard, the CK88 is a suitable choice for more piano-oriented players. Wherever there is no grand or electric piano available - and perhaps not even a speaker system - the CK88 offers characterful sounds from the categories piano/e-piano, organ, strings, brass, pad, and ethnic. For example, a Split/Layer combination for a band project can be created in just a few steps. If the accompaniment of a choir with one of the already existing piano Live Sets is required, the signal for the direct connection to the house system, for example, can be adjusted very quickly with the Controls of the Master EQ, so that a mixing console can be omitted. Furthermore, in terms of sound and feel the CK88 proves that “piano feeling” does not depend on moving several hundred kilograms of weight.
Parts & Voices
The sound generation of the CK Series can be distributed over up to three Parts. All Parts have the same range of functions, and all available Voices (incl. organ) can be assigned individually. The most important controls for Parts and Voice selection are located to the left of, and directly below the display. There are two buttons per Part - for switching on/off and for selecting the Parts. Directly above them, Sliders for the Part Volume can be found. Below the display, the [CATEGORY] buttons can be used to select a Voice for the currently active Part.
Effects
The CK Series features a very comprehensive Effects system. Three independent Effects are available for each Part, which can be applied to all available Voices. The first of these
Effects is set to the superordinate Category “Drive” and contains Distortion Effects as well as Rotary Speaker Simulation and a Compressor. The other two Effects are identical and provide 36 variations each from different Effect Categories.
Battery Operation / Speakers
The CK Series is perfectly prepared for spontaneous music-making. Even when there is no power supply and/or no amplification system available. With eight AA batteries or rechargeable batteries, the instruments can be operated independently of the mains supply. A corresponding indicator in the display shows the approximate remaining capacity of the batteries.
The active speaker system can be switched by a switch onthe back of the instrument. The length of operating time with battery power is, of course, directly dependent on the power demanded from the speaker system. Higher volumes over a longer period of time reduce the capacity of the batteries more quickly.
When a lower capacity limit is reached, a warning message appears on the display and the speaker system is switched off at the same time. This leaves enough remaining capacity to save any settings made and to save a Backup File on a USB flash drive.
Stereo Audio Input
The CK88 is equipped with a very flexible stereo Input. This can be used for external instruments, audio players, or microphones.
