Hammond M-Solo 49 Key Performance Keyboard; Burgundy
Hammond M-Solo 49 Key Performance Keyboard; Burgundy
The Hammond M-Solo brings the classic sound of the ToneWheel Hammond Organ plus other vintage organs & keyboard tones to a compact 49-key instrument designed to complement your existing keyboard rig.
Weighing just 3.6kg, the Hammond M-Solo is light enough to take on the road when you need a strong Hammond sound on stage or in the studio. It is also compact enough to mount as a second keyboard on top of a stage piano or other master keyboard for times when the generic sounds in other keyboards don’t give the authentic sound or soul of a Hammond organ.
In the 1950s, Hammond manufactured the M-series organs, also affectionately known as the “Baby-B’s”. These were a minimised version of the World-famous classic B-3. M-Solo has been named as a successor to the vintage M-series.
More Than Just An Organ
As you’d expect, being a Hammond instrument, M-Solo can produce a top-quality tonewheel organ tone. It has all the standard features you’d expect – 9 physical drawbars, the latest Modelled Tonewheel 2 Organ engine (MTW2), vibrato, chorus, percussion, harmonics, and a cutting-edge digital Leslie speaker simulator. The playing experience of the M-Solo’s Tonewheel Organ section is further enhanced with Hammond’s exclusive Virtual Multi-Contact system.
In addition to the Hammond ToneWheel organ voice, you’ll find other popular vintage organ sounds, including Vox, Farfisa and Acetone. This makes the M-Solo ideal for playing jazz and pop, as well as classic 70’s rock, punk-rock and new wave music.
There are three voice sections in total. To complement the organ voices, you’ll find a classic string/vocal synth that emulates the sound of 70s keyboards and a 4-voice polysynth with chorus effect for creating fat analogue synth pads, comps and leads.
M-Solo is all about being hands-on. There’s no screen for menu diving to find parameters – everything you need to give an impressive performance has a physical hardware controller. Both the ensemble and synth sections have filter and envelope controls, and a good range of effects are available to give even more creative sound possibilities.
It is possible to store three of your favourite sound combinations within the M-Solo’s memory for instant recall during your performance.
Connections
M-Solo has a good range of audio and data connections, including MIDI IN & OUT, USB To Host, Audio Line Out L, R, Headphones, and a stereo Aux In (with independent Volume control). There are also connectors for a footswitch and expression pedal.
