Gibson ES-335; 60s Cherry

Gibson Original Series ES-335 - Sixties Cherry

In 1958 Gibson revolutionised the guitar market releasing three iconic models - the Flying V, Explorer and ES-335. Although the 335 sported the most conservative appearance of the three, its all-new semi-hollow construction gave it a unique tone that was to become legendary.

The Gibson Original Series ES-335 provides a glimpse into that historic era, giving you the chance to unleash your inner Clapton.

The body is produced from 3-ply maple/poplar/maple with spruce bracing and a maple centre block. This classic construction provides a resonant woody tone that works perfectly for blues, jazz and rock.

The semi-hollow nature of the 335 also allows you to achieve controlled feedback by interacting with your amplifier for some incredible effects. Traditional nitrocellulose lacquer and a stunning Sixties Cherry finish make this a real head-turner that will only get better with age.

Featuring a rounded "C" profile, the mahogany neck is exceedingly comfortable, and hand-rolled fingerboard edges give it a gorgeous "played-in" feel. Thanks to the double cut-away design you can utilise every one of the 22 medium-jumbo frets that are fitted to a beautiful rosewood fretboard with classic block inlays.

Premium hardware including Vintage Deluxe tuners, ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge and aluminium stop bar will keep you in tune and able to perfectly adjust your action and intonation. Finally, two calibrated T-Type humbucking pickups give all the vintage tone you could wish for with enough versatility for any occasion.

You can try out the Gibson Original Series ES-335 along with our whole range at Bonners in Eastbourne. Our experienced team are always happy to help guide you to the perfect guitar or leave you to get acquainted with the instrument in your own time.
