Gibson J-45 Studio Rosewood Acoustic; Natural

Gibson J-45 Studio Rosewood Acoustic; Natural

A modern, rosewood-backed evolution of the iconic "Workhorse" round-shoulder acoustic.

Originally introduced in 1942, the J-45 earned its reputation as "The Workhorse" through a legacy of reliability and sonic versatility. As Gibson’s best-selling acoustic model, it remains a staple of recording studios and live stages globally. The J-45 Studio Rosewood continues this lineage, offering a contemporary update to the classic design while maintaining the understated elegance and functional simplicity that defined the original.

This model is handcrafted in Bozeman, Montana, utilising all-solid tonewoods and a full-depth, round-shoulder body for maximum projection. The foundation consists of a Sitka spruce top finished in gloss nitrocellulose lacquer, paired with rosewood back and sides featuring a satin nitrocellulose finish. The neck is constructed from utile with an Advanced Response profile, topped with a 20-fret rosewood fingerboard and mother-of-pearl dot inlays.

Premium Tonewoods and Construction

  • Solid Sitka Spruce Top: Provides a wide dynamic range and high playing responsiveness suitable for various techniques.

  • Rosewood Back and Sides: Delivers increased bass response and sparkling treble overtones compared to traditional mahogany variants.

  • Full-Depth Body: Maintains the classic round-shoulder dimensions to ensure deep resonance and high-volume projection.

  • Nitrocellulose Finish: Utilizes a gloss top and satin back/sides to allow the wood to breathe and age naturally over time.

Enhanced Playability and Hardware

  • Advanced Response Neck: Features a profile designed to balance thickness and speed, accommodating a wide variety of hand sizes.

  • 16" Fingerboard Radius: Offers a flatter surface that facilitates efficient note runs and comfortable chording.

  • L.R. Baggs Element Bronze: An active under-saddle piezo system with soundhole-mounted volume control for transparent, studio-quality amplification.

  • Professional Tuning Stability: Equipped with Grover Rotomatic tuners and a Graph Tech TUSQ nut, saddle, and bridge pins for precise intonation.

The J-45 Studio Rosewood is designed for the working musician who requires a professional-grade instrument capable of transitioning seamlessly from the studio to the stage. By combining the legendary Bozeman-built construction with modern playability enhancements and high-fidelity electronics, this guitar serves as a durable, long-term tool for any genre. Each instrument ships with a modern hardshell case for secure transport and storage.
