Fender Custom Shop Limited Edition Roasted Stratocaster Special NOS Electric Guitar May 2024; Aged Pewter: Serial Number: CZ579855 | Second Hand

Custom Shop

Since 1987, the Fender Custom Shop has represented the pinnacle of guitar craftsmanship, where "Dream Factory" luthiers transform premium tonewoods into legendary instruments. Whether meticulously recreating vintage icons or forging one-of-a-kind modern masterpieces, they define the gold standard for players who demand unrivalled feel and performance.

The Construction

This Limited Edition '56 Stratocaster from the Custom Shop represents a sophisticated marriage of 50's and 60's design, and with just enough contemporary components to make this guitar gig-able and reliable. The finishing of the stunning Aged Pewter lacquer provides the look and feel of a showroom-clean vintage guitar that has been preserved in a time capsule since 1956. As a dedicated left-handed build, it offers southpaw players a rare opportunity to own a boutique-level piece that is usually reserved for right-handed production runs.

The foundation of this guitar is a premium roasted alder body that has been specifically selected for its light weight and resonant properties. By roasting the wood, Fender removes excess moisture and impurities, resulting in a more stable platform that mimics the tonal characteristics of well-aged vintage lumber. The body construction features an off-centre seam on the treble side to accommodate the iconic 1957-style deep contours. This gives a comfortable and ergonomic playing experience, allowing the instrument to sit closer and more naturally on the player.

The Electronics

This custom shop comes armed with a calibrated set of Hand-Wound Fat '50s pickups, including a reverse-wound middle pickup for hum-canceling performance in positions two and four. These pickups are renowned for delivering the quintessential Stratocaster sparkle and chime offering a slightly enhanced low-end response and increased output. This ensures that the guitar can jump from glassy, clean rhythms to saturated lead tones without losing fundamental character.

The Details

Every detail of this build is rounded out with period-correct hardware and professional appointments, including the Custom Shop vintage synchronised tremolo and a traditional four-bolt neck plate. This Stratocaster ships in a deluxe Fender Custom Shop tweed hardshell case, complete with all the prestige and historical accuracy one expects from the world’s most renowned custom guitar shop. It is a precision-engineered tool built for the discerning guitarist who requires elite performance and timeless aesthetics.

Second Hand

This guitar has been set up to make sure its at the best of its ability, with all parts functioning and being in fantastic condition staight out of the factory. There are only the most minor of factory surface scratches on this guitar, and nothing else to note cosmetically or functionally.
