Epiphone SG Special (P-90); Faded Pelham Blue
Epiphone SG Special (P-90); Faded Pelham Blue
The Epiphone SG Special captures the raw energy and timeless appeal of a rock ‘n’ roll icon. Crafted from solid mahogany for both the body and neck, it features a retro-inspired finish that stays true to the SG’s classic design heritage. The neck is shaped in a fast-playing '60s SlimTaper profile, making it exceptionally comfortable and ideal for quick lead runs or smooth rhythm playing.
A 12-inch fingerboard radius paired with medium jumbo frets offers an authentic, responsive feel, while the Indian Laurel fingerboard adds warmth and character to the overall tone. Stability is enhanced by a high-quality Graph Tech nut and Epiphone’s LockTone ABR bridge with Stopbar tailpiece, ensuring rock-solid tuning and excellent sustain.
This model revives the original spirit of the SG with a set of P-90 PRO Soap Bar pickups, harking back to the era before humbuckers became standard. These high-output single coils are fully wax-potted to reduce feedback and deliver a powerful, punchy tone that works brilliantly across jazz, blues, and rock. They’re responsive and dynamic, providing vintage character with modern reliability.
Nickel hardware and Epiphone Deluxe tuners with ivory buttons complement the vintage styling. The control layout includes two volume and two tone knobs, along with a three-way Epiphone toggle switch and a heavy-duty 1/4" output jack.
The Epiphone SG Special with P-90 PRO pickups is a no-nonsense, tone-packed instrument that delivers classic looks, modern reliability, and the unmistakable bite of vintage single-coil power.
