Albert Augustine, an instrument maker, found himself pressured by none other than Andres Segovia to manufacture and sell nylon guitar strings. He did so, insuring the rise of a new generation of concert players and lending his own part to the cultivation and completion of the famous Segovia Sound.

The heavy bass strings (E, A, D) are wound with silver alloy copper and are rated as high tension, meaning that they are a little tougher on the fingers but feature a broader, snappier tone than regular tension basses. The overall rating is classed as being high tension.
